Bis(2-hydroxyethanaminium) terephthalate
The asymmetric unit of the title salt, 2C(2)H(8)NO(+)·C(8)H(4)O(4) (2-), comprises one crystallographically independent 2-hy-droxy-ethanaminium cation and one half terephthalate anion. In the crystal, hydrogen bonds involving the hy-droxy and ammonium groups of the cations and the carboxyl-ate O atoms of the terephthalate anions result in the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.
متن کاملTetramethylammonium hydrogen terephthalate
The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C(4)H(12)N(+)·C(8)H(5)O(4) (-), contains one half of a tetra-methyl-ammonium cation and one half of a hydrogen terephthalate monoanion. The N atom of the ammonium cation lies on a twofold rotation axis and the centre of mass of the terephthalate anion is on a centre of inversion. In the crystal, the centrosymmetric terephthalate ions are linked by a very s...
متن کاملEntanglements in Glassy Polymer Crazing: Cross-Links or Tubes?
Models of the mechanical response of glassy polymers commonly assume that entanglements inherited from the melt act like chemical cross-links. The predictions from these network models and the physical picture they are based on are tested by following the evolution of topological constraints in simulations of model polymer glasses. The same behavior is observed for polymers with entanglement le...
متن کامل2-Ethylimidazolium terephthalate
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(5)H(9)N(2) (+)·C(8)H(5)O(4) (-), consists of one protonated 2-ethyl-imidazolium cation and two half terephthalate anions. The anions and cations are linked through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds while the anions are associated via O-H⋯O inter-actions, resulting in a layered structure. The ethyl group of the cation is disordered over twosites of occupancies 0.8...
متن کاملIncubation time to crazing in stressed poly(methyl methacrylate)
Crazing is usually a precursor of the brittle fracture of glassy polymers. In this paper, an optical technique is presented to quantify the crazing dominated creep damage that occurs on a stressed transparent glassy polymeric sheet of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The specimens, with various sections, are loaded for a predefined period of time under a constant load at room temperature, and th...
