According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), construction and operation of buildings accounted for nearly 38% total global energy-related CO₂ emissions in 2019. The sector has been striving use more low-carbon footprint building products mitigate climate change enhance environmentally preferable purchasing. Over last several decades, there substantial growth engineered wood industry. To assess these used their environmental profile, lifecycle assessments (LCAs) are performed. This study performed an LCA estimate impacts (cradle-to-gate gate-to-grave) cellulosic fiberboard (CFB) per m³ functional unit basis. inventory data developed were representative CFB production North America.
