چکیده
This study uses the Eulerian-Lagrangian multiphase particle-in-cell (MP-PIC) approach, adopted in computational particle fluid dynamics (CPFD) code, Barracuda Virtual Reactor®, to simulate injection of a gas–liquid spray into gas–solid fluidized bed. The model accounts for evaporation volatile liquid form individually moving droplets and thin films distributed on surface solid bed particles. Comparison with previously reported temperature measurements varying nozzle gas-to-liquid ratios suggests that is capable predicting overall features gas distributions within region at velocities less than 50 m/s. Locally observed discrepancies between experimental simulated profiles are likely related presence wet agglomerates region, as suggested by developed energy dissipation that, combined MP-PIC model, predicts location extent agglomeration

Experimental Study of Coating in a Bottom Sprayed Fluidized Bed
Several investigations have been devoted towards understanding the coating process in fluidized beds. Most of these studies focused on spraying liquid droplets over the bed. However, due to the complexity of these systems, more investigations are still required to quantify the effect of operating conditions on the coating criteria. The present work aims at fundamentally understanding and pr...

متن کاملControl of a Fluidized Bed Polyethylene Reactor
In present paper, dynamic behavior and control of a fluidized bed reactor for polyethylene production has been considered. A double active sites model for Ziegler-Natta catalysts is used for simulation of polymerization reaction. Hydrodynamic behavior of the bed is modeled using a two phase model including bubble and emulsion phases in which bubble phase has plug flow pattern with different...
متن کاملBed Voidage and Heat Transfer in Non-Newtonian Liquid-Solid Fluidized Bed
The presence of particles in liquid-solid fluidized beds enhances the bed heat transfer, because the movement of the particles leads to an increased turbulence in the system. Moreover, the violent movement of the particles has a positive effect on fouling of the heat transfer surface. The aim of this investigation was to perform systematic measurements of bed voidage and heat transfer coeff...
