چکیده

In this paper, we investigate covert communication in an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system, where a legitimate transmitter (Alice) applies NOMA for downlink and uplink transmissions with user (Bob) public (Roy) aided by IRS. Specifically, propose new IRS-assisted schemes to hide the existence of Bob’s transmission from warden (Willie), which cost-effectively exploits phase-shift uncertainty IRS signal Roy as cover medium without requiring additional sources. Assuming worst-case scenario Willie can optimally adjust detection threshold his detector, derive analytical expression minimum average error probability achieved each proposed schemes. To further enhance performance, maximize rates Bob jointly optimizing transmit power reflect beamforming, subject given requirements on covertness against quality-of-service at Roy. Simulation results demonstrate advantage confirm accuracy derived results. Interestingly, it is found that impossible using or considered setup while always guarantee positive rates.

Performance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward

In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...

Performance Optimization of Cooperative Communication in Intelligent Transport Systems

In wireless networks, cooperative techniques like relay and cooperative Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) techniques can be used to exploit the spatial and temporal diversity gain in order to increase the performance of transmission. The energy efficiency of cooperative MIMO and relay techniques is then very useful for the Infrastructure to Vehicle (I2V) and Infrastructure to Infrastructure (I2I)...

NOMA Assisted Wireless Caching: Strategies and Performance Analysis

This paper investigates the coexistence of two important enabling techniques for future wireless networks, non-orthogonal multiple-access (NOMA) and wireless caching, and we show that the use of NOMA ensures that the two caching phases, content pushing and content delivery, can be more effectively carried out, compared to the conventional orthogonal multiple-access (OMA) based case. Two NOMA ca...

Covert Communication over Slotted ALOHA Systems

This paper uses jamming legitimate transmissions over a slotted ALOHA system as a means of covert communication. The resulting covert channel is found to be source dependent, and to have infinite memory. Hence, a characterization of the capacity of covert communication over such a medium is an inherently complex problem. Employing i.i.d. jamming strategies, this paper derives achievable rates f...
