Cost estimation of micro-hydropower equipment in Nepal

Selecting the appropriate technology for providing electricity to rural communities depends upon evaluating cost of a potential installation. For some communities, locally manufactured technology, in form wind and hydropower, can be effective. However, often these technologies is largely unknown. Access costing data allows economic viability site compared with other options. Furthermore, it enables benchmarking, allowing expected total an installation, or individual sub-systems, quotations. This paper attempts address current lack publicly available information micro-hydropower equipment. A methodology presented where quotations are provided by manufacturing companies Nepal randomly generated sites. Using that information, they quotation various sub-systems. comparison major components influence turbine type. Through linear regression model, expression have been developed used determine both Pelton Crossflow installations. The accuracy expressions previous models, outcomes work their significance context elsewhere discussed. key contribution this establishing numerical which allow proposed costs equipment rapidly evaluated.
