چکیده
Abstract Context Insulin resistance (IR) and abnormal insulin secretion play a key role for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Aims We investigated surrogate markers IR, i.e., Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA), Quantitative Sensitivity Check Index (QUICKI), McAuley, Fasting Resistance (FIRI) in DM patients. Also, fasting (FI) levels were estimated diabetics. Further, correlation FI with other IR was done. Settings Design A hundred newly diagnosed patients from Malwa population, Punjab, considered evaluation. Another 100 healthy individuals (age sex-matched) examined as controls. Methods Material blood glucose, FI, lipid profile estimated, calculated using McAuley index (McA), HOMA, QUICKI, FIRI. Statistical Analysis Used The statistical analysis performed on above-mentioned clinical interpretations. Cohen’s kappa test used to affirm agreement. Results significantly higher (20.8 ± 9.05 µIU/L) than controls (7.93 1.01 µIU/L). by found significant study group. 76% ended up resistant measurement, almost equivalent McA, 80%; 88%; FIRI, 90%. notable highlighted between McA manifesting (p < 0.01, r = −0.85). FIRI indices 0.93; p 0.01 −0.92; +0.93, respectively). agreement visible also affirms same (k 0.9 McA). Conclusion concluded that all specific when compared but terms sensitivity be more sensitive it includes dyslipidemia, which is precipitating factor metabolic derangements so DM.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is an insulin resistant state associated with accelerated atherosclerosis, hypertension, dyslipidemia and abnormal vasomotor responses to insulin. One hundred and thirty nine T2DM patients were included in this study. Out of the total 139 patients, 120 (86.33%) had hyper-insulinemia. According to the NCEP-ATP III criteria, the prevalence of IRS was 103 (74.1%) am...

Objective: There are association between oxidative stress and incidence of some chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Food containing antioxidant compounds, such as some spices, are the natural ways to deal with oxidative stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sumac powder (Rhus coriaria L) on the glycemic profile in patients with T2DM. Materials ...
