چکیده

This paper discusses the utilization of pilots' physiological indications such as electroencephalographic (EEG) signals, ocular parameters, and pilot performance-based quantitative metrics to estimate cognitive workload. The study aims derive a non-invasive technique pilot's workload their correlation with standard parameters. Initially, we conducted set user trials using well-established psychometric tests for evaluating effectiveness pupil gaze-based estimating at different levels task difficulty lighting conditions. Later, NALSim flight simulator business class Learjet aircraft model. We analyzed participants' power EEG frequency bands, parameters variations in Results indicate that introduction secondary increases significantly. beta band EEG, nearest neighborhood index specifying distribution gaze fixation, L1 Norm spectral density diameter, duty cycle metric indicated

Correlation between Expected Workload and EEG Indices of Cognitive Workload and Task Engagement

As a Human Computer Interaction (HCI) designer, it is important to understand the cognitive workload level (mental demand) of an operator while performing a task. A particular concern about operator workload stems from the increased potential for errors when cognitive workload gets too high. The Office of Naval Research Disruptive Technologies Opportunity Fund, is sponsoring research investigat...

Evaluating the Correlation Between Pollination Ecosystem Service and Landscape Pattern metrics (Case Study: Qazvin Province)

Pollination is an ecological service with high economic values related to human and ecological wellbeing. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between landscape complexity and pollination service (bee) in Qazvin province at the landscape scale. Landscape pattern metrics (Number of Patches (NP), Patch Richness (PR), Edge Density (ED), and Shannon Index (H)), as a proxy of landscape comple...

Introduction to cognitive processes of expert pilots.

This report addresses the historical problem that a very high percentage of accidents have been classified as involving "pilot error." Through extensive research since 1977, the Federal Aviation Administration determined that the predominant underlying cause of these types of accidents involved decisional problems or cognitive information processing. To attack these problems, Aeronautical Decis...

Can Helmet Weight Affect Cognitive Performance and Mental Workload? An Experimental Study

This study sought to examine the effect of helmet weight on cognitive performance and mental workload. Twenty participants were studied in three one-hour sessions. The participants were asked to read and work with computer under three conditions: while wearing no helmets, while wearing a helmet that weighed 800 g (A), and while wearing a helmet weighing 1500 g (B). “N-back” task and Continuous ...
