Correlation and R2 analysis of radicle emergence test to predict seed vigour and field emergence in blackgram (Vigna mungo L.) seed lots

Blackgram (Vigna mungo L.) is one of the major pulse crops grown throughout India. Prediction seed vigour and field emergence before sowing important for assured yield. A standard germination test time-consuming does not always show lot potential performance, especially if conditions are optimal. There need advanced technology, which can give a precise result in short period. The experiment was conducted to correlate radicle with parameters predict planting value 10 varying lots (L1, L2, L3, L4 - high lots; L5, L6, L7 medium L8, L9, L10 low lots) blackgram var. VBN 6. study showed that all were more highly correlated percentage 2 mm length than 1 length. correlation analysis results at 28 hours had significant negative EC (electrical conductivity) leachate (-0.974**), followed by MJGT (mean just time) (-0.967**) MGT (-0.933**). However, it positively (0.972**), (0.952**) dehydrogenase enzyme activity (0.928**). maximum R2 0.923 recorded 28-hour counting compared 26-hour (0.913). concluded 28th hour could be used quickly evaluate lots.
