چکیده

Small walnut aphid (Chromaphis juglandicola (Kaltenbach) (Hemiptera: Aphididae) is important pest in orchards Lake Van Basin, Turkey. In this study, the life-table parameters reflecting population growth rate and predation of Chrysoperla carnea (Stephen) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae), which one predators pest, were determined. Life table estimated according to age-stage, two-sex life method. Variances standart errors obtained Bootstrap The values for intrinsic increase (r), finite (λ), net reproductive (R0) mean generation time (T) 0.072 d−1, 1.070 62.48 offspring 57.16 d, respectively C. fed on Chromaphis juglandicola. (C0) was determined as 212.9 aphids. Pradation projection performed by using timing program prevent predator’s decrease capacity determine most appropriate release quantities interval between releases (to fill gaps) biological control. possible effects findings bio-controls discussed. Results can be used management that will prepared pest.

Effect of temperature on the interaction between Chrysoperla externa (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) and Sipha flava (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

This paper examines some biological aspects and the predatory capacity of Chrysoperla externa fed nymphs of Sipha flava and reared at different temperatures. Recently hatched larvae were placed individually in Petri dishes, fed ad libitum with S. flava and reared at either 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 or 32 ± 1°C, a RH of 70 ± 10% and a 12-h photophase. The experiment was fully randomized with 30 replica...

Comparing effects of insecticides on two green lacewings species, Chrysoperla johnsoni and Chrysoperla carnea (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae).

This study compared lethal and sublethal effects of five insecticides, chlorantraniliprole, cyantraniliprole, spinetoram, novaluron, and lambda-cyhalothrin, on adult and second instars of two green lacewing species, Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) and Chrysoperla johnsoni Henry, Wells and Pupedis (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) in the laboratory. Formulated pesticides were tested using concentrations e...

Development of Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) on pollen from Bt-transgenic and conventional maize

Maize (Zea mays) pollen is highly nutritious and can be used by predatory arthropods to supplement or replace a carnivorous diet. We demonstrate that maize pollen can be utilized by larvae of the green lacewing, Chrysoperla carnea (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) under laboratory conditions. Complete development on maize pollen was not possible, but 25% of neonates reached the third instar. When only ...

Oviposition response of green lacewings (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) to aphids (Hemiptera: Aphididae) and potential attractants on pecan.

Pecan foliage is attacked by three species of aphids [Monellia caryella (Fitch), Melanocallis caryaefoliae (Davis), and Monelliopsis pecanis Bissell], resulting in damage that can reduce tree nut yield. In this study, we assayed the ovipositional response of the green lacewing Chrysoperla rufilabris (Burmeister) to M. caryella and M. caryaefoliae at high and low aphid densities and the developm...
