Coronavirus sequence trove sparks frustration

چکیده
With more than 700,000 genomes from 160 countries, GISAID is by far the world9s largest database of SARS-CoV-2 sequences. Access to free, nonprofit repository has become vital thousands scientists and public health agencies as they race track pandemic coronavirus9 alarmingly rapid evolution. But a dozen interviewed Science raised alarms about independent organization9s management. They reported an opaque process gaining access, unexplained interruptions once access won, phone harangues or threatening legal letters when got on wrong side GISAID9s strict rules against resharing data. Many trace what view secretive, controlling organizational culture co-creator head, former Time Warner studio executive Peter Bogner.

Tropical treasure trove
for Arid Zone Research, the site where much of the research is now done, although it is no longer owned by the CSIRO, but we could not find M. baogti on that day. The reasons are unclear why they were not out, as the ants are all over that site. We then went out of town to Simpson's Gap, a tourist attraction in the West McDonnells mountain range west of Alice Springs. In a magic moment on getti...
متن کاملFull-Genome Sequence of Pantropic Canine Coronavirus
Pantropic canine coronavirus (CCoV) was first detected in young dogs in Italy in 2005, but the complete genome sequence of this virus had not yet been determined. Here, we report the full-length genome sequence of the prototype strain CB/05, which showed that this virus is genetically similar to CCoV-IIa viruses.
متن کاملModulation of frustration in folding by sequence permutation.
Folding of globular proteins can be envisioned as the contraction of a random coil unfolded state toward the native state on an energy surface rough with local minima trapping frustrated species. These substructures impede productive folding and can serve as nucleation sites for aggregation reactions. However, little is known about the relationship between frustration and its underlying sequenc...
متن کاملLocalized structural frustration for evaluating the impact of sequence variants
Population-scale sequencing is increasingly uncovering large numbers of rare single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) in coding regions of the genome. The rarity of these variants makes it challenging to evaluate their deleteriousness with conventional phenotype-genotype associations. Protein structures provide a way of addressing this challenge. Previous efforts have focused on globally quantifying t...
