چکیده

To meet society’s need for more and specialized materials, this work focuses on the preparation of porous metal–organic framework (MOF)–zeolite hybrid materials based two 2D zeolites, namely, IPC-1P (Institute Physical Chemistry - 1 Precursor) ZIF-8 (Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8). Using previously well-established assembly–disassembly–organization–reassembly method, zeolite was (i) synthesized, (ii) hydrolyzed to a layered zeolite, (iii) interlayer distance increased using swelling agent cetyltrimethylammonium chloride, (iv) nanocrystals were grown stepwise surface but predominantly at edges crystallites where openings region are located. This selective MOF growth attachment facilitated by combination intercalation metal ions between layers. The influence solvent number additional steps systematically investigated, synthesis protocol successfully adapted further two-dimensional silicate RUB-18 (Ruhr-Universität Bochum 18). paves way toward controlled MOF–zeolite which might provide interesting properties future applications.

Hydrogen storage in a prototypical zeolitic imidazolate framework-8.

Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) are a new class of nanoporous compounds which consist of tetrahedral clusters of MN4 (M ) Co, Cu, Zn, etc.) linked by simple imidazolate ligands.1,2 As a subfamily of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), ZIFs exhibit the tunable pore size and chemical functionality of classical MOFs. At the same time, they possess the exceptional chemical stability and rich st...

Quasi-free methyl rotation in zeolitic imidazolate framework-8.

Using neutron inelastic scattering and diffraction, we have studied the quantum methyl rotation in zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8: Zn(MeIM)(2), MeIM = 2-methylimidazolate). The rotational potential for the CH(3) groups in ZIF-8 is shown to be primarily 3-fold in character. The ground-state tunneling transitions at 1.4 K of 334 +/- 1 mueV for CH(3) groups in hydrogenated ZIF-8 (H-ZIF-8)...

Porous Proton Exchange Membrane Based Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8)

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are emerging material class for the past few years due to its tailorability characteristics for various applications. However, the research and development (R&D) of MOFs is still scarce for fuel cell system. This may be due to the several difficulties faced in selecting a good MOFs-based electrolyte, which consequently affects both proton conduction and methanol ...

Reversed Crystal Growth of RHO Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework (ZIF)

RHO zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF), Zn1.33 (O.OH)0.33 (nim)1.167 (pur), crystals with a rhombic dodecahedral morphology were synthesized by a solvothermal process. The growth of the crystals was studied over time using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analyses, and a reversed crysta...

Comparing gas separation performance between all known zeolites and their zeolitic imidazolate framework counterparts.

To find optimal porous materials for adsorption-based separations is a challenging task due to the extremely large number of possible pore topologies and compositions. New porous material classes such as Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are emerging, and hope to replace traditionally used materials such as zeolites. Computational screening offers relatively fast searching for candidate structure...
