چکیده

Given the complexity of practical usage controlled atmospheres for protection agro-commodities, several researchers have pointed out that there is not enough robust scientific documentation regarding inert gases their widespread application. Therefore, this work evaluated various regimes hypoxic and anoxic nitrogen control two key stored-product pests, in laboratory under field conditions silos. Sitophilus granarius Callosobruchus chinensis were selected as tested species since they are important pests grain/rice or legumes Europe Asia. Under conditions, we (N2) concentrations (from 95 to 100%) exposure times (1–20 days) on developmental stages both pest species. In most S. C. chinensis, shortest effective was found concentration 99%. Based our tests, validation studies subsequently carried semi-hermetic steel silos (25t) using continuous saturation by on-site built swing pressure generators. It a full all achieved 11 days exposure, ranging above 99% below 100%. Our shows treatment can be effectively small proper technological environmental conditions.

Mortality effect of BT extracts and esterase variability in three stored grain insects: Callosobruchus chinensis, Sitophilus granarius and Tribolium castaneum

Bioassay was conducted to determine the susceptibility level of the adults of Callosobruchus chinensis, Sitophilus granarius and Tribolium casteneum against four BT isolates (1i, 27s, 27f and HD73) where mortality effects were counted from 24 to 192 hours (8 days) at 24 hours of intervals. All strains of BT were highly active against C. chinensis and the LC50 were found to be 0.30, 0.73, 0.62 a...

Efficacy of Cinnamon and Citronella Oil Vapours in the Control of Callosobruchus chinensis L. in Bulk Stored Green Gram

Efficacy of Cinnamon bark oil vapour (Cinnamomam verum Presl.) and Citronella oil vapour (Cymbopogon nardus L.) were evaluated for the control of infestations of Callosobruchus chinensis L in bulk stored green gram. Both oils were used at 5ml and 10ml/5kg of seeds in 3L plastic baskets. Oviposition and damaged seeds were detected for up to two months of period. At the end of the storage period,...

Millworkers' asthma: allergic responses to the grain weevil (Sitophilus granarius).

Two laboratory workers, who spent a considerable time each day handling grain infested by the grain weevil (Sitophilus granarius), developed allergic responses to this insect varying from rhinitis and pruritus to marked asthma. These findings suggested that weevil protein present in mill dust could result in sensitization in those exposed continuously. A pilot study was therefore undertaken on ...

Habitat-related mtDNA polymorphism in the stored-bean pest Callosobruchus chinensis (Coleoptera: Bruchidae).

The genetic diversity of populations of the azuki bean beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis (Linnaeus) from natural, pre-harvest and post-harvest sites, was investigated to understand population structure and gene flow. A 522-bp fragment of the mitochondrial gene COI was sequenced for eight populations of C. chinensisfrom Japan, Korea and Taiwan collected from different habitats. Six haplotypes wer...
