چکیده
Diode-rectifier-based high voltage dc (DR-HVdc) systems can be a promising low-cost solution for exporting wind power from remote offshore farms to onshore systems. Industrializing the DR-HVdc requires technical maturation, achievable through in-depth studies and pilot experiments. Deployment of may entail fundamental change control philosophy in turbine (WT) converters grid-following grid-forming. This article proposes new grid-forming DR-connected WT converters. The proposed controller uses two sequential loops regulate WTs' active power, maintain frequency ac network. first regulates active-power mismatch each into angle deviation, which leads change. second adjusts WT's alternating magnitude counteract An internal current loop is used limit fault eliminate high-frequency resonances system. verified by electromagnetic transient simulations, including fault-ride through, WTs change, reactive disturbance, outage.

Subsynchronous Torsional Interaction of Wind Farms with FSIG Wind Turbines Connected to LCC-HVDC Lines
High-voltage direct current (HVDC) lines with line-commutated converter (LCC) are being increasingly employed to transmit bulk wind power over long distance. However, this may cause the sub-synchronous torsional interaction (SSTI) between the wind farms and the LCC-HVDC system. The SSTI characteristics of wind farms with fixed-speed induction generator (FSIG) wind turbines connected to LCC-HVDC...
متن کاملDFIG Based Wind Turbines Behavior Improvement during Wind Variations using Fractional Order Control Systems
This paper is concerned with behavior analysis and improvement of wind turbines with Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) when using a new fractional-order control strategy during wind variations. A doubly fed induction generator, two types of variable frequency power electronic converters and two input wind waveforms are considered. A fractional-order control strategy is proposed for the wind...
متن کاملImpact of DFIG Based Offshore Wind Farms Connected Through VSC-HVDC Link on Power System Stability
With the increased levels of offshore wind power penetration into power systems, the impact of offshore wind power on stability of power systems require more investigation. In this paper, the effects of a large scale doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based offshore wind farm (OWF) on power system stability are examined. The OWF is connected to the main onshore grid through a voltage source ...
متن کاملOptimization of monopiles for offshore wind turbines.
The offshore wind industry currently relies on subsidy schemes to be competitive with fossil-fuel-based energy sources. For the wind industry to survive, it is vital that costs are significantly reduced for future projects. This can be partly achieved by introducing new technologies and partly through optimization of existing technologies and design methods. One of the areas where costs can be ...
