QQg contribution to diffractive J/ψ electroproduction
We study the diffractive electroproduction of quarkonia from quark-antiquark-gluon states in the photon wave function. We show that these states contribute to the leading-power and leading-logarithm level. We suggest the measurement of J/ψ production via inelastic diffraction to study color-transparency and color-opacity effects in the diffractive gluon distribution.
متن کاملHeavy Quark Electroproduction and the Heavy Quark Contribution to the Proton Structure
New results on charm and beauty electroproduction from the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations at the ep collider HERA are presented. Differential cross sections are compared to a next-to-leading order QCD calculation. The heavy quark contributions, F cc̄ 2 and F bb̄ 2 , to the proton structure function F2 are compared using different experimental techniques. Also, results are shown on the charm fragmenta...
متن کاملDiffractive Electroproduction *
In the following, the term ‘diffractive electroproduction’ or ‘diffractive deep inelastic scattering (DIS)’ is used to characterize those processes in small-x DIS where, in spite of the high virtuality of the exchanged photon, the proton target remains intact or almost intact. Thus, the term is used synonymously with the expression ‘rapidity gap events in DIS’. Historically, the term diffractio...
متن کاملElectroproduction of nucleon resonances
The unitary isobar model MAID has been extended and used for a partial wave analysis of pion photoand electroproduction in the resonance region W < 2 GeV. Older data from the world data base and more recent experimental results from Mainz, Bates, Bonn and JLab for Q up to 4.0 (GeV/c) have been analyzed and the Q dependence of the helicity amplitudes have been extracted for a series of four star...
متن کاملElectroproduction of Vector Mesons
Exclusive electroproduction of vector mesons (VMs) is a particularly good process for studying the transition from the soft to the hard regime of strong interactions [1], the former being well described within the Regge phenomenology while the latter by perturbative QCD (pQCD). The interest in this interplay comes from the need to understand at which scale a partonic language is applicable. The...
