چکیده
Oleander is very frequently planted as an ornamental shrub in urban areas of the Mediterranean. Its most common pest aphid Aphis nerii, and heavy infestations produce aesthetic damage disturbances to citizens, they are sprayed with insecticides order reduce population density. One alternative method conservation biological control which enhanced by provisioning food, refuges, reproduction sites. In this study, usefulness four flowering service plants (Lobularia maritima, Calendula officinalis, Coreopsis grandiflora, Achillea millefolium) evaluated for infestation levels natural enemy abundances. Aphid were consistently lower oleander plots surrounded plants. Natural abundances tended be higher plants, but significant differences could not found until fourth year when more lacewings, total predators, mummies On these plots, hoverflies, ladybeetles, lacewings predators. Paragus sp. Hippodamia variegata prevalent hoverfly ladybeetle species, respectively. The potential toxicity effect on prevalence species discussed. significantly hoverflies recorded L. maritima than C. officinalis true bugs A. millefolium or grandiflora. Our results suggest that planting (such sweet alyssum, marigold, yarrow) surrounding oleanders can improve enhancing abundance enemies thus a reduction nerii.

Bottom-up Effect of Two Host Plants on Life Table Parameters of Aphis gossypii (Hemiptera: Aphididae)
Aphis gossypii Glover is one of the most important pests of greenhouse cucumber and pepper in the world and Iran. In this research, life table and biology of A. gossypii were investigated on cucumber (Cucumis sativus cv. Super Sultan) and pepper (Capsicum annum cv. Marqueza) in a growth chamber at 25±1°C and 60±5% RH and a photoperiod of 14 L: 10 D hour. The results showed that developmental ti...
متن کاملAbundance of adult hoverflies (Diptera: Syrphidae) on different flowering plants
Encouraging natural enemies by growing attractive plants is considered an effective method of pest control in organic farming. However, it is important to identify which flowers best attract beneficial insects. In this study, relative attractiveness of 16 species of flowering plants to adult hoverflies was assessed by conducting timed observations of feeding-visit frequencies. The experiments w...

Aphis polii sp. n. living on Teucrium polium L. (Lamiaceae) is described, based on apterous and alate viviparous females and oviparous females. It has been collected from seventeen localities in mainland France, Corsica, Italy, Ukraine, Lebanon and Iran. The new species is similar to two other Aphis species that feed specifically on plants of the genus Teucrium, but has a relatively longer ulti...

متن کاملEvaluation of artificial diets for rearing Aphis glycines (Hemiptera: Aphididae).
Artificial aphid diets have been previously developed for the pea aphid, Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris), and the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer). The ability to rear aphids on an artificial diet allows for selectively adding or subtracting compounds from an aphid's food source to determine the effect on fecundity and longevity. Five diets previously developed for the green peach aphid ...
