Contrasting coronas: microscale fluid variation deduced from monazite breakdown products in altered metavolcanic rocks associated with the Grängesberg apatite-iron oxide ore, Bergslagen, Sweden

چکیده
Three different types of secondary coronas developed around monazite-(Ce) were discovered in altered metavolcanic rocks closely associated with the Palaeoproterozoic apatite-iron oxide ore deposit Grängesberg, Sweden. All three reaction include fluorapatite that is either rimmed by allanite-(Ce), REE-fluorocarbonate(s), or hingganite-(Y). The latter mineral has not been previously observed among monazite breakdown products. A unique feature described their spatial proximity to each other, exceeding a few hundreds micrometres. We infer observed, strongly contrasting assemblages highlight presence heterogeneous fluid mediated these microscale decomposition reactions. Thus, it emphasized metasomatic variability natural systems may often be too large predicted and reproduced experimentally.

Geological setting of iron oxide-apatite deposits in theBafq district, central Iran with an emphasis on mineralogical, petrographic, and geochemical study of the Sechahun deposit
The objective of this research is to determine all processes in the magmatic evolution and related hydrothermal activities that created the volcanic rocks and associated ore-forming systems of the Bafq mining district. Several iron oxide-apatite (IOA) deposits were investigated in this area with a focus on the Sechahun ore deposit. The Bafq mining district is well known for hosting significan...

Gazestan deposit is located about 185 km of Yazd, in the Bafgh – Posht e Badam Metallogenic belt, consists of Infracambrian carbonate, shale, tuff, sandstone and volcanic rocks. Acid to basic green rocks (rhyolite, dacite and basalt) are host for iron and phosphate mineralization. The alteration process is more intence in the volcanic rocks including, actinolite, chloritization, silicification ...

Early Cambrian volcanic rocks of the Posht-e Badam tectonic block in Central Iran which is hydrothermally altered to green color rocks, hosts the Kiruna-type Iron Oxide-Apatite (IOA) mineralization in Anomaly 10 of Sechahun deposit. Geochemically, these volcanic rocks are classified as high-potassium calc-alkaline and mainly consist of rhyolite and trachyandesite. These rocks are important for ...

The Lakeh-Siah iron± apatite deposit is located in the Bafq-Saghand Metallogenic Province (Central Iran) and situated within rhyolitic rocks. Magnetite with minor apatite are the main ore minerals in this deposit. Monazite and xenotime minerals in microscopic scale formed as inclusion in the apatite and magnetite crystals and micro-fractures. Based on microscopic and EPMA evidences, apatite is ...
متن کاملMagmatic origin of giant ‘Kiruna-type’ apatite-iron-oxide ores in Central Sweden
Iron is the most important metal for modern industry and Sweden is by far the largest iron-producer in Europe, yet the genesis of Sweden's main iron-source, the 'Kiruna-type' apatite-iron-oxide ores, remains enigmatic. We show that magnetites from the largest central Swedish 'Kiruna-type' deposit at Grängesberg have δ(18)O values between -0.4 and +3.7‰, while the 1.90-1.88 Ga meta-volcanic host...
