چکیده
Abstract The correct absolute time of a seismogram is an important prerequisite for many seismological processing methods. Recently, seismic interferometry has been applied to continuously estimate instrumental clock errors in certain regions. However, previous studies have focused on estimating only one target region each study, and data methods that provide more stable results different regions not explored. This study presents new method are various based with windowed cross-correlation least deviation regression. applicability this was validated by its application 50 active volcanoes Japan. We found at 23 stations 13 between January 2017 December 2021. maximum amplitude the ranged 0.24 18.27 s. value range significantly larger than background fluctuation estimated values errors, which less 0.05 s most volcanoes. A comparison approaches estimation error shows our proposed uses regression can reduce effect waveform changes ambient noise functions, probably because source fluctuations. Monitoring Volcanoes using Seismic Noise Correlations*
In this paper, we summarize some recent results of measurements of temporal changes of active volcanoes using seismic noise cross-correlations. We first present a novel approach to estimate volcano interior temporal seismic velocity changes. The proposed method allows to measure very small velocity changes (≈ 0.1%) with a time resolution as small as one day. The application of that method to Pi...
متن کاملSeismic interferometry and stationary phase at caustics
Waves that propagate between two receivers can be extracted by cross correlating noise recorded at these receivers if the noise is generated by sources on a closed surface surrounding the receivers. This concept is called seismic interferometry. Of all these noise sources, those for whom the travel time difference for propagation to the two receivers is in the stationary phase zone, give the do...
متن کاملContinuous Monitoring of Crosswell Seismic Travel Time
In two separate shallow field experiments, at two distance scales, we have used continuous monitoring to estimate the effect of barometric pressure on crosswell travel time and thereby calibrated the stress sensitivity of the rock volume between the wells. In a 3 m experiment we found a stress sensitivity of 10/Pa while in a 30 m experiment the sensitivity was 5 x 10 /Pa. Results from a deeper ...
متن کاملInstrumental Variables Regression with Measurement Errors and Multicollinearity in Instruments
In this paper we obtain a consistent estimator when there exist some measurement errors and multicollinearity in the instrumental variables in a two stage least square estimation of parameters. We investigate the asymptotic distribution of the proposed estimator and discuss its properties using some theoretical proofs and a simulation study. A real numerical application is also provided for mor...
