Continuous-flow hydrogenation over resin supported palladium catalyst for the synthesis of industrially relevant chemicals

Abstract Herein, the catalytic performance of palladium nanoparticles grafted on polymeric TSNH 2 (Tentagel-S-NH ) resin was investigated for continuous-flow liquid-phase hydrogenation two industrially relevant chemicals: 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol and nitrocyclohexane. We effect process parameters such as temperature pressure PdTSNH activity selectivity. Depending reaction conditions, well-dispersed PdNPs with average size about nm have shown very high flexibility in terms selectivity toward desired products: 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol or 2-methyl-2-butanol case cyclohexanone oxime cyclohexylamine main product nitrocyclohexane conversion. The optimal conditions formation were estimated at 25 °C 5 bar, 40 10 bar. demonstrated general trend 2.2 wt% Pd Tentagel-S-NH . Independently hydrogenated substrate, increase conversion leads to decreased expense increasing cyclohexylamine. Graphic abstract

Palladium nanoparticles supported over poly(vinyl)chloride matrix (PVC-Pd(0)) are prepared through an efficient and inexpensive protocol.
