Contextualizing spatiality of multidimensional poverty in rural and urban India: A geographical perspective

The present study tries to estimate the spatial pattern of incidence, extent and severity multidimensional poverty in rural urban India during 2021 obtaining data from report NITI Aayog based on NFHS-4 dataset. reveals that large interstate disparities persist its intensity India. also attempts examine deprivation different indicators MPI which confirms magnitude is acute most poorer states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc. Finally we have performed decomposition analysis identify significant contributor for revealed both space among dimension health nutrition made contribution overall score poverty. target oriented policy eradication programmes needs be stressed. may beneficial development planners makers understand across a better way.
