چکیده
The paper investigates Italian consumers’ behavior towards characteristics of extra virgin olive oil, in particular organic production methods and geographical origin. On the basis existing literature, concepts sustainability food systems, diets, oil supply chain are analyzed. A choice experiment (CE), using a face-to-face questionnaire with over 1000 participants, was conducted to quantify willingness pay (WTP) for these two attributes. Findings show positive preference origin attributes, while attribute is not highly valued. article also offers some perspectives on future research improve competitiveness chain.

Extra virgin olive oil and oleic acid
For many decades, researchers have investigated the relationships between health status and consumption of extra virgin olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil (and oleic acid) is considered important for the prevention of coronary heart disease. While the biomolecular aspects involving G protein need further research, oleic acid levels in platelets may be a discriminating factor, together with linol...

This paper presents the adaptation of CORBFN, an evolutionary cooperative-competitive hybrid algorithm for the design of Radial Basis Function Networks, for short-term forecasting of the price of extra virgin olive oil. In the proposed cooperative-competitive environment, each individual represents a Radial Basis Function, and the entire population is responsible for the final solution. In orde...

In order to check the reliability of an NMR-based metabolomic approach to evaluating blend composition (and declaration), a series of 81 Italian/Tunisian blends samples at different percentage composition (from 10/90 to 90/10% Coratina/Tunisian oil by 10% increase step) were prepared starting from five Coratina (Apulia) and five Tunisian extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) batches. Moreover, a series...

متن کاملA statistical model for consumer preferences: the case of Italian extravirgin olive oil
The CUB model is a mixture distribution recently proposed in literature for modelling ordinal data. In this article we investigate how this univariate distribution can be exploited in order to model the margins of multivariate ordinal data. In particular, we take the theory of discrete copula into consideration and we show how use the Plackett distribution in order to construct a one parameter ...
