Construction of Global Function Fields from Linear Codes and vice Versa
We introduce a new connection between linear codes and global function fields, which in turn allows us to construct new global function fields with improved lower bounds on the number of rational places. The genus and number of rational places of subfields of certain families of cyclotomic function fields are given as well.
متن کاملProbing confined fields with single molecules and vice versa.
Single dye molecules are used as local probes to map the spatial distribution of the squared electric field components in the focus of a high numerical aperture lens. Simulated field distributions are quantitatively verified by experimentally obtained fluorescence excitation maps. We show that annular illumination can be used to engineer the field distribution in the focus at a dielectric/air i...
متن کاملMaximal monotone operators are selfdual vector fields and vice-versa
If L is a selfdual Lagrangian L on a reflexive phase space X ×X∗, then the vector field x → ∂̄L(x) := {p ∈ X∗; (p, x) ∈ ∂L(x, p)} is maximal monotone. Conversely, any maximal monotone operator T on X is derived from such a potential on phase space, that is there exists a selfdual Lagrangian L on X ×X∗ (i.e, L∗(p, x) = L(x, p)) such that T = ∂̄L. This solution to problems raised by Fitzpatrick can...
متن کاملLeft to Right and vice versa: Applying Fractal Symbolic Analysis to Restructuring Linear Algebra Codes
We have recently developed a new program analysis strategy called fractal symbolic analysis that addresses some of limitations of techniques such as dependence analysis. In this paper, we show how fractal symbolic analysis can be used to convert between left-looking and right-looking versions of three kernels of central importance in computational science: Cholesky factorization, LU factorizati...
متن کاملFrom numbers to Numerals and Vice Versa
Universally used decimal representations, such as 5; 200; 856763; 189200000 are rendered (written, pronounced) differently in different languages. The number 5 is tllus five in English, fern in Swedish, cinq in French, ketsmala in Koyukon, biyar in Hausa and nga: in Burmese. Numbers can furthermore be written differently in different mathematical systems. The number 5 is written V in the Roman ...
