Constraints and Facilitators of Sport Participation in Qatar: Perceptions of Ooredoo Marathon Participants

The Qatari government has increasingly supported education of Qatar residents on the importance physical activity, along with developing and improving sport infrastructure, bidding for hosting a collection events. Despite these efforts, number challenges inherent to may hinder participation among country's residents. current research examines constraints activity described by participants in event Qatar, factors that facilitated their participation. Semistructured interviews were conducted who had participated Ooredoo Marathon ( N = 22), largest participatory Doha, targets individuals all running abilities. Four (social life, reluctance walk, lack time competing priorities, expectations women) three facilitators (technology, peer familial support, support) emerged from interviews. findings provide implications managers promote social aspects as well heightening awareness focused technology.
