Abstract Background Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) is an illustrious predator that performs cannibalism upon facing small and defenseless conspecifics. Eating preference of C. larvae was investigated between conspecific host ( Sitotroga cerealella ) eggs.
