Consistent transmitting boundaries for <scp>time‐domain</scp> analyses of wave propagation in layered anisotropic waveguides

Abstract Consistent transmitting boundaries for time‐domain analyses of scalar‐ and elastic‐wave propagation in horizontally layered anisotropic or transversely isotropic waveguides are developed. Governing equations corresponding consistent nodal forces derived scalar elastic waves which finite‐element discretization is considered the vertical layering direction. Auxiliary variables horizontal derivatives integrals displacements introduced to modify governing forces. The desired applicable then derived. boundary a wave satisfies criteria an accurate well‐posed condition shows convergent, accurate, stable behaviors variety scalar‐wave problems waveguides. Although demonstrated as convergent waveguides, limited accuracy observed numerical examples. Nevertheless, newly proposed approach expected provide another way solve problems.
