چکیده
In stochastic (dynamic) traffic assignment (DTA), route choice (RC) formulations with implicit set require less memory than their explicit counterparts. To compute turn probabilities, however, a topological ordering of the nodes is needed, which negatively impacts stability convergence and consistency equilibrium. This paper formulates general framework for RC module efficient DTA (ESDTA) without ordering; we demonstrate how its full fixed yields smooth consistent convergence. The theoretical requires series computational modifications to ensure that numerical errors remain limited make formulation more use in practice. resulting ESDTA's computation time reach equilibrium scales linearly respect all relevant complexity dimensions (network size, demand zones, resolution, congestion level).

Stochastic quasi-gradient algorithm for the off-line stochastic dynamic traffic assignment problem
This paper proposes a stochastic quasi-gradient (SQG) based algorithm to solve the off-line stochastic dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) problem that explicitly incorporates randomness in O–D demand, as part of a hybrid DTA deployment framework for real-time operations. The problem is formulated as a stochastic programming DTA model with multiple user classes. Due to the complexities introduced ...
متن کاملA Framework for Traffic Assignment with Explicit Route Generation
13 Abstract Transport assignment models play an important role in the research and practice of transport planning. Traditionally, transport assignment models are link-based, predicting traffic volumes on network links. However, route-based transport assignment models, which work with route sets and determine traffic volumes of routes, became more important in recent years. They support advanced...
متن کاملDTA2012 Symposium: Combining Disaggregate Route Choice Estimation with Aggregate Calibration of a Dynamic Traffic Assignment Model
Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) models are important decision support tools for transportation planning and real-time traffic management. One of the biggest obstacles of applying DTA in large-scale networks is the calibration of model parameters, which is essential for the realistic replication of the traffic condition. This paper proposes a methodology for the simultaneous demand-supply DTA c...
متن کاملStable Route Selection for Interdomain Traffic Engineering∗
We investigate a general model of route selection for interdomain traffic engineering where the routing of multiple destinations can be coordinated. We identify potential instability and inefficiency problems, derive practical guidelines to guarantee stability without global coordination, and evaluate routing instability of interdomain traffic engineering using realistic Internet topology. We f...
متن کاملA Strategic Model for Dynamic Traffic Assignment
We propose a model of dynamic traffic assignment where strategic choices are an integral part of user behaviour. The model provides a discrete-time description of flow variation through a road network involving arcs with rigid capacities. A driver’s strategy assigns, to each node of the network, a set of arcs in the forward star of that node, sorted according to a preference order. The main ele...
