Considerations of VLBI transmitters on Galileo satellites

چکیده
For directly linking the dynamical reference frame of satellite orbits to quasi-inertial extra-galactic radio sources, observations satellites with Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) technique are only conceivable method. Hence, should be embedded in VLBI network sessions during which also natural sources observed. this reason, it would most practical if artificial signal generated at for covers same frequency bands as regularly observed by telescopes and have a similar flux density across bandwidth these sources. The use Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such Galileo system is advisable because they well monitored terms precise orbit determination altitude allows common visibilities many telescopes. So far, generation on GNSS dedicated has not been realized yet, partly suitable equipment considered depth. Planning of an Experiment for VLBI Tracking of GNSS Satellites
As a preparation for future possible orbit determination of GNSS satellites by VLBI observations an initial three-station experiment was planned and performed in January 2009. The goal was to get first experience and to verify the feasibility of using the method for accurate satellite tracking. GNSS orbits related to a satellite constellation can be expressed in the Terrestrial Reference Frame....
متن کاملVLBI observations of GNSS-satellites: from scheduling to analysis
The possibility of observing satellites with the very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) technique has been discussed for several years in the geodetic community, with observations of either existing satellites of the global navigation satellite systems or of satellites dedicated to realise a space tie. Such observations were carried out using the Australian telescopes in Hobart and Ceduna whi...
متن کاملIntegrity Mechanisms for GPS Satellites within the Galileo Architecture
This paper presents the results of the study of a number of options for the provision of integrity data for GPS satellites within the Galileo architecture, and their corresponding impacts. The project was supported by Alcatel Space and was a contribution to the Galileo definition studies (supported by the European Community under the GALA project), addressing in particular, the definition of st...
متن کاملComplexity Considerations for Unambiguous Acquisition of Galileo Signals
In order to obtain a higher spectral separation from the BPSK-like signals, i.e. GPS C/A code, the signals proposed for future Galileo and GPS M-code signals are processed using split-spectrum type modulations, such as Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulation. These BOC modulations create deep fades (ambiguities) in the envelope of the Autocorrelation Function (ACF) of signal, and therefore the a...
متن کاملSome Initial Conditions for Disposed Satellites of the Systems GPS and Galileo Constellations
Through the averaged equations we revisit theoretical and numerical aspects of the strong resonance that increases the eccentricity of the disposed objects of GPS and Galileo Systems. A simple view of the phase space of the problem shows that the resonance does not depend on the semi-major axis. Therefore, usual strategies of changing altitude raising perigee do not work. In this problem we sea...
