Conservation Units as a protection tool for social wasps in Minas Gerais state, Brazil

Conservation Units are an important tool for the Brazilian biota protection. However, various taxa, including social wasps, undersampled or unknown in these areas. Therefore, our study aimed to assess wasp richness and distribution Minas Gerais state, southeastern Brazil. The wasps were sampled between 2015 2019 Ritápolis National Forest (FLONA Ritápolis), Alto-Montana Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN Alto-Montana), Rio Machado Basin State Environmental Protection Area (APA Machado) Serra de São José José), using two different sampling methodologies. Fourteen species FLONA Ritápolis, 10 RPPN Alto-Montana, 35 APA 19 José. Ninety-six of known 14 Units, representing 90% fauna state. Thirty-four exclusive areas, with emphasis on Doce Park, do Papagaio Pandeiros River Wildlife Regufe Machado. Most Atlantic but further efforts needed this biome, because its accelerated destruction. There is still urgent need more studies Cerrado Caatinga areas especially Units.
