چکیده
The aim of this work is to establish inclusive guidelines on electroencephalography (EEG) applicable all neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Guidelines ideal EEG monitoring for neonates are available, but there significant barriers their implementation in many centres around the world. These include due limited resources regarding availability equipment and technical interpretive round-the-clock personnel. On other hand, despite its limitations, amplitude-integrated (aEEG) (previously called Cerebral Function Monitor [CFM]) a common alternative used NICUs. Italian Neonatal Seizure Collaborative Network (INNESCO), working with national scientific societies interested field clinical neurophysiology, performed systematic literature review promoted interdisciplinary discussions among experts (neonatologists, paediatric neurologists, neurophysiologists, technicians) between 2017 2020 elaborating shared recommendations. A consensus statement videoEEG (vEEG) aEEG principal indications was established. authors propose flexible frame recommendations based complementary use vEEG various different levels complexity according local specific patient features. Suggestions promoting cooperation neonatologists, organisational restructuring, teleneurophysiology provided.

The Prognostic Value of Amplitude-Integrated EEG in Full-Term Neonates with Seizures
Neonatal seizures pose a high risk for adverse outcome in survived infants. While the prognostic value of amplitude-integrated electroencephalogram (aEEG) is well established in neonates with encephalopathy and asphyxia, neonatal seizure studies focusing on the direct correlation between early aEEG measurement and subsequent neurologic outcome are scarce. In this study, the prognostic value of ...
متن کاملApplication of an Amplitude-integrated EEG Monitor (Cerebral Function Monitor) to Neonates
Amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG) is an easily accessible technique to monitor the electrocortical activity in preterm and term infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). This method was first used to monitor newborns after asphyxia, providing information about future neurological outcomes. The aEEG is also helpful to select newborns who benefit from cooling. The aEEG monitoring of preterm...

متن کاملClinical utility of early amplitude integrated EEG in monitoring term newborns at risk of neurological injury.
OBJECTIVE to test the clinical utility of an early amplitude-integrated electroencephalography (aEEG) to predict short-term neurological outcome in term newborns at risk of neurology injury. METHODS this was a prospective, descriptive study. The inclusion criteria were neonatal encephalopathy, neurologic disturbances, and severe respiratory distress syndrome. Sensitivity, specificity, positiv...

Objective: To explain the neural mechanisms of spontaneous EEG by measuring the spatiotemporal patterns of synchrony among beta-gamma oscillations during perception. Methods: EEGs were measured from 8x8 (5.6x5.6 mm) arrays fixed on the surfaces of primary sensory areas in rabbits that were trained to discriminate visual, auditory or tactile conditioned stimuli (CSs) eliciting conditioned respon...
