Congestion Management of Power Systems by Optimal Allocation of FACTS devices using Hybrid Techniques

For system operators, Congestion management is a difficult task as the market’s security and reliability are protected by this methodology. As magnitude of an electric transmission extremely dynamic, limits must be estimated much beforehand, in order to manage congestion issues at right time. Flexible AC systems (FACTS) used control voltage fluctuation adjusting system's real reactive power. A combination Improved Remora Optimization (IRO) Radial Basis Function (IRBF) allocate positions sizes FACTS devices. In study, Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), Interlink Power Flow Controllers (IPFC) Unified (UPFC) among devices used. proposed hybrid IRO-IRBF technique, following functional aims calculated: build-on-expenditure, Line Loading (LL), Total Voltage Deviation (TVD) power loss. Additionally, technique confirm proper location using IEEE 30 bus structure. TVD, loss, installation costs, line loading measurements assess implementation performance approach. From result analysis, achieved loss 0.1591 p.u., TVD 0.02 which lesser than existing Whale Algorithm Mayfly Algorithm.
