چکیده
Abstract This paper defends a conceptualistic version of structuralism as the most convincing way elaborating philosophical understanding in line with classical tradition. The argument begins revision tradition “conceptual mathematics”, incarnated key figures period 1850 to 1940 like Riemann, Dedekind, Hilbert or Noether, showing how it led structuralist methodology. Then tension between ‘presuppositionless’ approach those authors, and platonism some recent versions structuralism, is presented. In order resolve this tension, we argue for idea ‘logical objects’ form minimalist realism, again authors including Peirce Cassirer, introduce basic tenets conceptual structuralism. remainder devoted an open discussion assumptions behind and—most importantly—an show objectivity mathematics can be explained from adopted standpoint. includes that advanced builds on hypothetical (Riemann, Peirce, others), which presented discussed detail. Finally, ensuing notion interpreted particularly robust intersubjectivity, distinguished fictional social ontology.

Structuralism, Reloaded
The attempt to institute a viable structuralist explanatory project in the social sciences (in particular anthropology and sociology) has been beset, since its inception, with what some have considered to be insurmountable difficulties. Four such roadblocks deserve mention. 1) The first, I refer to as Piaget’s question [Piaget 1970, 113]: “how do [social] forms acquire structural organization?”...

Structuralism is a movement within the sciences of man holding that the order which we are able to observe in the world is isomorphic with the order that obtains in the observing mind. The correspondences that exist between world and mind are not generally apparent from inspection, but require scrutiny into the "deep structure" that underlies phenomena, a concept first propounded by Ferdinand D...

I use an old challenge to motivate a new view. The old challenge is due to variation in our perceptions of secondary qualities. The challenge is to say whose perceptions are accurate. The new view is about how we manage to perceive secondary qualities, and thus manage to perceive them accurately or inaccurately. I call it perceptual structuralism. I first introduce the challenge and point out d...

Structuralism is a view about the subject matter of mathematics according to which what matters are structural relationships in abstraction from the intrinsic nature of the related objects. Mathematics is seen as the free exploration of structural possibilities, primarily through creative concept formation, postulation, and deduction. The items making up any particular system exemplifying the s...
