Concatenating Daily Exercise Routes with Public Sports Facilities, Bicycle Lanes, and Green Spaces: A Feasibility Analysis in Nanjing, China

Public sports facilities have the potential to improve their functions as active living infrastructures (ALIs) in combination with bicycle lanes and green spaces. A favorable sequence of exercise intensities different scenes is important for individuals take physical activity scientifically. Our research aimed explore feasibility promoting consolidating this using reasonable daily routes concatenated by public facilities, spaces, lanes. Taking 25 major Nanjing an example, we obtained cycling from open-source data delineated facilities’ catchment areas assess coordination facilities. Further, evaluated interactions between spaces checking spatial intersections park entrances above routes. The results revealed that integration lanes, could provide services most residential areas, parks existed already. Therefore, it was feasible design coupled existing facility layout. Moreover, service gaps were affected layout density configuration official planning proposals. This advances understanding how can be pivotal cooperation ALIs other infrastructures.
