چکیده

Due to the vast area of application and reliability, fiber optic magnetic field sensors have been subject several studies, however, some these areas are submitted temperature variations, which can hinder in monitoring field. With this panorama, work analyzes through computational modeling a optical sensor, using magneto-optical Faraday effect observing effects sensor response. For modeling, numerical model built COMSOL Multiphysics is used. The results show value for cross-sensitivity 3.27 mT/°C non-optimized configuration 2.47 an optimized configuration. A methodology optimizing operate certain range, 55 75 °C, also discussed. presented that important factor be considered improve selectivity obtain correct sensitivity sensor.

A Polymer Optical Fiber Temperature Sensor Based on Material Features

This paper presents a polymer optical fiber (POF)-based temperature sensor. The operation principle of the sensor is the variation in the POF mechanical properties with the temperature variation. Such mechanical property variation leads to a variation in the POF output power when a constant stress is applied to the fiber due to the stress-optical effect. The fiber mechanical properties are char...

Temperature-independent polymer optical fiber evanescent wave sensor

Although the numerous advantages of polymer optical fibers have been exploited in the fields of sensors and telecommunications, such fibers still experience a critical problem: the temperature dependency. Therefore, we explored the temperature-independent operation of a polymer fiber-optic evanescent wave sensor immersed in distilled water. We investigated variations in the surface morphology, ...

Pulse shape effects on the measurement of Temperature using a Brillouin based Optical fiber sensor

Distributed fiber sensing based on Brillouin gain scattering (BGS) principle is a useful way to develop devices capable to measure temperature or/and strain in optical fibers. New effects or technologies that could achieve a larger distance and/or a better spatial resolution are a topic of special interest in this fiber sensing area. The influence of the probe-pulse shape in the interaction bet...

Thermodynamic Modeling and Analysis of an Optical Electric-Field Sensor

The stability of the optical electric field sensor (OEFS) in actual operation is affected by environmental factors such as temperature and SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride). To analyze the operational environment parameters affecting the optical properties of crystals, a thermodynamic model of the OEFS in which the optical properties of the crystal are changed by the first-order effects and the second-...
