چکیده

In the current work, flow characteristics of single isothermal and non-isothermal jets discharging into upper plenum a 1/16th scaled-down high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) facility were studied. ANSYS Fluent simulations carried out in central plane jet water for different Reynolds numbers (Re) ranging from 3413 to 12,819. Then, statistical characteristics, such as mean velocity, root-mean-square fluctuating stress, temperature plenum, computed presented. The study’s results showed that maximum velocity occurred far inlet. Finally, profiles plotted, it was found close plume inlet after decreased downstream.

Chaos Control in a Non-Isothermal Autocatalytic Chemical Reactor

In this paper, a reaction system consisting of two parallel, non-isothermal autocatalytic reactions in a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) has been considered. Reactor chaotic behavior is possible for certain values of system parameters. Two types of controllers are designed and compared in order to control both the reactor temperature and the product concentration. T...

Isothermal and Non-isothermal Methods

a comparison was made between the experimental non-isothermal a vs. t curves and those calculated on the basis of a previous isothermal study. It was observed that for low heating rates, when the "thermal lag" is negligible, the dynamic measurements are in good agreement with the isothermal ones. Furthermore, for process (I), two mathematical methods proposed for the interpretation of the non-i...

Modeling and Optimization of non - isothermal two- phase flow in the cathode gas diffusion layer of PEM fuel cell

In this paper, a non-isothermal two-phase flow in the cathode gas diffusion layer (GDL) of PEM fuel cell is modeled. The governing equations including energy, mass and momentum conservation equations are solved by numerical methods. Also, the optimal values of the effective parameters such as the electrodes porosity, gas diffusion layer (GDL) thickness and inlet relative humidity are calculated...

Kinetic Modeling of Isothermal or Non-isothermal Adsorption in a Pellet: Application to Adsorption Heat Pumps

Understanding the interaction between a fluid and a solid phase is of fundamental importance to the design of an adsorption process. Because the heat effects associated with adsorption are comparatively large, the assumption of isothermal behavior is a valid approximation only when uptake rates are relatively slow. In this article, we propose to determine when it is needed to choose the isother...
