Computational electromagnetics for the SKA-Low prototype station AAVS2

چکیده

We summarize the activities conducted since 2019 in numerical electromagnetic analysis of one prototype station SKA-Low telescope. Working closely with SKA Observatory, two teams based Australia and Italy have collaborated effectively modeling analyzing AAVS2, which is most recent an installed Western Australia. A comprehensive overview main parameters at element array level obtained different commercial solvers presented. Results for scattering parameters, individual patterns, beams are shown; all these fully incorporate mutual coupling effects. Sensitivity addressed, as cross-polarization performance. Finally, we also address some lessons learned their impact on project.

SKA station cost comparison

Introduction Current SKA white papers and updates present cost in a variety of ways which makes direct comparisons difficult. To a first approximation the major difference between the proposals is the cost of the antenna stations. These costs have been extracted from the white papers and updates and an attempt has been made to bring them all to a common metric: cost per square metre of physical...

Distributed Computational Electromagnetics Systems

We describe our development of a \real world" electromagnetic application on distributed computing systems. A computational electromagnetics (CEM) simulation for radar crosssection(RCS) modeling of full scale airborne systems has been ported to three networked workstation cluster systems: an IBM RS/6000 cluster with Ethernet connection; a DEC Alpha farm connected by a FDDI-based Gigaswitch; and...
