چکیده
The Comprehensive, Computable NanoString Diagnostic gene panel (C2Dx) is a promising solution to address the need for molecular pathological research and diagnostic tool precision oncology utilizing small volume tumor specimens. We translate subtyping-related expression patterns of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) derived from public transcriptomic data which establish highly robust accurate subtyping system. C2Dx demonstrates supreme performance on platform using microgram-level FNA samples has excellent portability frozen tissues RNA-Seq data. This workflow shows great potential clinical practice cancer diagnosis.

Adequacy of core needle biopsy specimens and fine-needle aspirates for molecular testing of lung adenocarcinomas.
OBJECTIVES Molecular testing of lung adenocarcinomas for epidermal growth factor (EGFR) mutations and an anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) translocation is important to guide directed therapy with tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The goal of this study was to determine whether transthoracic computed tomography-guided core needle biopsy (CNB) and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy specimens were equa...
متن کاملThe Utilization of Cytologic Fine-Needle Aspirates of Lung Cancer for Molecular Diagnostic Testing
In this era of precision medicine, our understanding and knowledge of the molecular landscape associated with lung cancer pathogenesis continues to evolve. This information is being increasingly exploited to treat advanced stage lung cancer patients with tailored, targeted therapy. During the management of these patients, minimally invasive procedures to obtain samples for tissue diagnoses are ...

Introduction Over the past decade, the oncology community has witnessed a revolution in our understanding of the biology of lung cancer with the identification of a significant proportion of patients whose tumors harbor targetable molecular changes. these recurrent genomic alterations include mutations, gene rearrangements, and copy number changes in relevant lung cancer genes (Figure 1). A var...
متن کاملDiagnostic utility of PAX2 and PAX5 in distinguishing non-small cell lung cancer from small cell lung cancer.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in both men and women and consists of different histological types. Histopathological examination and accurate subtype diagnosis has become increasingly important in guiding patient management and, as such, is the most important currently available lung cancer "biomarker". In this study, we examined the expression of PAX2 and PAX5 by immu...
متن کاملMolecular and Genetic Pathogenesis of Lung Cancer: Differences Between Small-Cell and Non-Small-Cell Carcinomas
Lung cancer is classified into small-cell carcinoma (SCLC) and non-small-cell carcinoma (NSCLC). The profile of molecular and genetic alterations considerably differs between SCLC and NSCLC, as well as among the subtypes of NSCLC. Tp53 is inactivated in nearly 50% of NSCLC, while its mutations with functional inactivation are greatly prevalent in SCLC (70-100%). Rb gene alterations and protein ...
