چکیده

Chelating agent is known as the enhancer for metal phytoextraction; however, there still a lack of efficient and environmentally sustainable chelators. Here, lemon residue extraction (LRE), prepared from 11 kinds fruit wastes, was combined with N, N-bis (carboxymethyl) glutamic acid (GLDA), tea saponin (T.S.) compounded plant-derived chelator (CPC), their influences on Cd phytoextraction by hyperaccumulator Sedum alfredii evaluated. Among these fruits, extracted most significant amount soil. The effective CPC at volume ratio three agents being 15:4:1 (LRE:GLDA:T.S.). Compared deionized water, solubility minerals increased 85–256 times, speciation substantially altered after application. In pot experiment, addition caused evident increases in plant shoot biomass, efficiency, organic matter content compared EDTA nitrilotriacetic (NTA) induced fewer changes bacterial community composition had no pronounced influence microbial biomass carbon α-diversity, suggesting subtle impact microbiological environments. Our study provides theoretical base reutilization wastes development environmental-friendly that assists phytoextraction.

Heavy metal phytoextraction by Sedum alfredii is affected by continual clipping and phosphorus fertilization amendment.

Improving the efficacy of phytoextraction is critical for its successful application in metal contaminated soils. Mineral nutrition affects plant growth and metal absorption and subsequently the accumulation of heavy metal through hyper-accumulator plants. This study assessed the effects of di-hydrogen phosphates (KH2PO4, Ca(H2PO4)2, NaH2PO4 and NH4H2PO4) application at three levels (22, 88 and...

Bioremediation of Cd and carbendazim co-contaminated soil by Cd-hyperaccumulator Sedum alfredii associated with carbendazim-degrading bacterial strains.

The objective of this study was to develop a bioremediation strategy for cadmium (Cd) and carbendazim co-contaminated soil using a hyperaccumulator plant (Sedum alfredii) combined with carbendazim-degrading bacterial strains (Bacillus subtilis, Paracoccus sp., Flavobacterium and Pseudomonas sp.). A pot experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions for 180 days with S. alfredii and/or car...

Interactive effects of Cd and PAHs on contaminants removal from co-contaminated soil planted with hyperaccumulator plant Sedum alfredii

Purpose Soil contamination by multiple organic and inorganic contaminants is common but its remediation by hyperaccumulator plants is rarely reported. The growth of a cadmium (Cd) hyperaccumulator Sedum alfredii and removal of contaminants from Cd and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) co-contaminated soil were reported in this study. Materials and methods Soil slightly contaminated by Cd ...

Bioremediation of Cd-DDT co-contaminated soil using the Cd-hyperaccumulator Sedum alfredii and DDT-degrading microbes.

The development of an integrated strategy for the remediation of soil co-contaminated by heavy metals and persistent organic pollutants is a major research priority for the decontamination of soil slated for use in agricultural production. The objective of this study was to develop a bioremediation strategy for fields co-contaminated with cadmium (Cd), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT), and...

A Genetic Transformation Method for Cadmium Hyperaccumulator Sedum plumbizincicola and Non-hyperaccumulating Ecotype of Sedum alfredii

The present study demonstrates the development of an Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation method for species of the Sedum genus, which includes the Cd/Zn hyperaccumulator Sedum plumbizincicola and the non-hyperaccumulating ecotype of S. alfredii. Multiple shoots were induced from stem nodes of two Sedum plants using Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium containing 0.1 mg/L cytokinin 6-benzyl...
