Composition and natural history of snakes from Zona da Mata in Rondonia, southwestern brazilian Amazon

This study presents an account on the snake assemblage and its natural history in state of Rondônia. Data collection was carried out between January December 2018. The surveys were done through time constrained searches, pitfall traps, occasional encounters. A total 155 snakes corresponding to 60 species recorded, which 12 registered for first Zona da Mata region, including new records Rondônia (Lygophis meridionalis Atractus pantostictus). most abundant Common Lancehead (Bothrops atrox). Active frequently observed ground (63.22%). Lizards nost frequent prey consumed by (45% species). Snake richness can still be considered underestimated, highlighting need studies.
