Composite particle construction of the Fibonacci fractional quantum Hall state

چکیده
The Fibonacci topological order is the simplest platform for a universal quantum computer, consisting of single type non-Abelian anyon, $\tau$, with fusion rule $\tau\times\tau=1+\tau$. While it has been proposed that anyon spectrum $\nu=12/5$ fractional Hall state includes sector, dynamical picture how pure may emerge in system lacking. Here we use recently dualities to construct bosons at filling $\nu=2$ starting from trilayer integer states. Our parent theory consists bosonic "composite vortices" coupled fluctuating $U(2)$ gauge fields, which related standard Laughlin quasiparticles by duality. obtained clustering composite vortices between layers, along flux attachment, procedure reminiscent Read-Rezayi We further this framework motivate wave function state.

Composite Fermions in Fractional Quantum Hall Systems
The composite Fermion (CF) picture offers a simple intuitive way of understanding many of the surprising properties of a strongly interacting twodimensional electron fluid in a large magnetic field. The simple way in which the mean field CF picture describes the low lying bands of angular momentum multiplets for any value of the applied magnetic field is illustrated and compared with the result...

The exact structure of edge modes in "hole conjugate" fractional quantum Hall states remains an unsolved issue despite significant experimental and theoretical efforts devoted to their understanding. Recently, there has been a surge of interest in such studies led by the search for neutral modes, which in some cases may lead to exotic statistical properties of the excitations. In this Letter, w...
متن کاملParticle Hamiltonian for the Fractional Quantum Hall Effect
A many-particle Hamiltonian is proposed in order to explain the fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE ) for fractional filling factors ν < 1. The solutions of the corresponding Hartree-Fock equations make it possible to discuss the FQHE ¿from the point of view of the single quasi-particle energy spectrum. It is shown how the specific couplings in the many-particle Hamiltonian depend on the magne...
متن کاملThe fractional quantum Hall effect.
Recent research has uncovered a fascinating quantum liquid made up solely of electrons confined to a plane surface. Found only at temperatures near absolute zero and in extremely strong magnetic fields, this liquid can flow without friction. The excited states of this liquid consist of peculiar particle-like objects that carry an exact fraction of an electron charge. Called quasiparticles, thes...

Their citation reads “ for their discovery of a new form of quantum fluid with fractionally charged excitations”. In this talk, I will try to describe this new form of quantum fluid and its fractionally charged excitations. However, since I am speaking to a general audience and the phenomenon of the fractional quantum Hall effect may not be familiar to all, I will start my talk with a brief int...
