Component Causes of Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis - The Role of Moraxella Species in the Epidemiology of Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis

چکیده
Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) involves multiple factors and opportunistic pathogens, including members of the genus Moraxella , specifically M bovis . The causal role is clear, where presence virulence that facilitate colonization (pili) host cytotoxicity (RTX toxins) are well characterized, IBK has been reproduced in many models. Experimental infection with bovoculi failed to reproduce IBK-typical lesions cattle thus far. However, recent work using genomics mass spectrometry have found genomic diversity recombination within these species, making species differentiation complex challenging ability assign causality organisms.

Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis Management
Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis is a disease that affects many herds in the US, however, the epidemiology of the disease is complicated and control is frustrating for many producers. This article discusses putative causes of IBK and approaches to understanding the causes of success and apparent failure in IBK control programs.

Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) is one of the most common diseases of cattle and is of major economic importance. If the primary aetiological agent, Moraxella bovis, is successfully eliminated from ocular tissues corneal ulcers heal at a constant rate. If treatment is unsuccessful ulcer reoccurrence may follow initial healing. Appropriate antimicrobial selection requires knowledge ...

BACKGROUND Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) is the most common ocular disease that affects cattle throughout the world and it has a very significant economic impact. IBK is caused by members of the genus Moraxella and therapeutic and preventive measures have shown limited success. Vaccines, most of them chemically inactivated bacterins, generally induce a limited protection. METHO...
متن کاملA haemolytic cell-free preparation of Moraxella bovis confers protection against infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis.
Protection conferred by a cell-free preparation from a haemolytic Moraxella bovis isolate, UQV 148NF, was compared to an equivalent fraction from a non-haemolytic M. bovis isolate, Gordon 26L3, and to a recombinant DNA-derived pili vaccine. Three groups of ten calves were vaccinated twice with one of the three preparations and, together with ten non-vaccinated calves, challenged with virulent M...

INTRODUCTION Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) is an important ocular disease which affects cattle worldwide. To advance towards IBK effective prevention and treatment strategies, it is important to define the distribution and genetic diversity of potential virulence factors present in M. bovis and M. bovoculi. The objective of this work was to identify and to analyze Moraxella spp. ...
