Complete Sequence of a New Bipartite Begomovirus Infecting Cotton Plants in Brazil
Begomoviruses are plant viruses responsible for severe losses in important crops, such as beans, cassavas, tomatoes, and cotton, around the world. Here, we report the first full-genome sequence of a bipartite begomovirus species collected from cotton plants in Brazil.
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of a Tomato-Infecting Tomato Mottle Mosaic Virus in New York.
The complete genome sequence of an isolate of tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) infecting tomatoes in New York was obtained using small RNA (sRNA) deep sequencing. ToMMV_NY-13 shared 99% sequence identity with isolates from Mexico and Florida. Broader distribution of this emerging virus is a cause for concern to the tomato industry.
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of a New Tobamovirus Naturally Infecting Tomatoes in Mexico
The complete genomic sequence of a new tobamovirus in tomatoes was determined through deep sequencing and assembly of small RNAs, then validated through Sanger sequencing. Based on the low sequence identity (≤85%) to known viruses and a close phylogenetic relationship to tobamoviruses, it was identified as a new species.
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of Mulberry Vein Banding Associated Virus, a New Tospovirus Infecting Mulberry
Mulberry vein banding associated virus (MVBaV) that infects mulberry plants with typical vein banding symptoms had been identified as a tentative species of the genus Tospovirus based on the homology of N gene sequence to those of tospoviruses. In this study, the complete sequence of the tripartite RNA genome of MVBaV was determined and analyzed. The L RNA has 8905 nucleotides (nt) and encodes ...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of Bacteriophage SM9-3Y Infecting Serratia marcescens
Serratia marcescens is an important opportunistic organism that causes nosocomial infections. Bacteriophage therapy has the potential to control S. marcescens infection. We present here the complete genome sequence of a lytic S. marcescens bacteriophage, SM9-3Y, which is a linear double-stranded DNA genome of 39,631 bp with 50.7% G+C content.
