چکیده

This work presents the design and evaluation of a planar device for microwave heating liquids in continuous microfluidics (CMF) made polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). It deals with volumes µL range, which are high interest relevance to biologists chemists. The heater this is conceived around complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) topology that offers desired electric field direction to—and interaction with—liquids microwell. designed on 0.25 mm thick Rogers RO4350B substrate operates at 2.5 GHz, while CMF channel 2.45 microwell manufactured PDMS using casting process. performance conducted fluorescent dye, Rhodamine B, dissolved deionized water. Heating measurements carried out 1 W power achieves temperature 47 °C sample volume after 20 s heating. Based achieved results, CSRR has large potential heating, addition already demonstrated dielectric sensing, all proving multifunctionality reusability single microwave-microfluidic devices.

Ultrafast and sensitive bioassay using split ring resonator structures and microwave heating.

In this paper, we have reported that split ring resonators (SRRs) structures can be used for bioassay applications in order to further improve the assay time and sensitivity. The proof-of-principle demonstration of the ultrafast bioassays was accomplished by using a model biotin-avidin bioassay. While the identical room temperature bioassay (without microwave heating) took 70 min to complete, t...

Complementary Split Ring Resonator Effects on Radiation Pattern Reconfigurable Circular Microstrip Antennas

In this study, a radiation pattern reconfigurable microstrip antenna is designed and fabricated. The antenna’s radiation pattern is directed in 9 different angles by employing a radiating patch and embedding complementary split ring resonators (CSRR) on the ground plane. The radiating patch is of circular shape, while for CSRR elements both circular and rectangular shapes are investigated. The ...

Complementary Split-Ring Resonator-Loaded Microfluidic Ethanol Chemical Sensor

In this paper, a complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR)-loaded patch is proposed as a microfluidic ethanol chemical sensor. The primary objective of this chemical sensor is to detect ethanol's concentration. First, two tightly coupled concentric CSRRs loaded on a patch are realized on a Rogers RT/Duroid 5870 substrate, and then a microfluidic channel engraved on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) i...

Microstrip Coupler with Complementary Split-Ring Resonator (CSRR)

A novel microstrip Coupler with Complementary SplitRing Resonator (CSRR) is simulated and fabricated. The CSRR structure in the grounded plane of a conventional microstrip double-line coupler, increases its even mode characteristic impedance. This results in a higher degree of coupling. The results of simulation and measurement show that the new coupler achieves a high degree of coupling (5 dB ...

Notched UWB bandpass filter using complementary single split ring resonator

In this paper, a simple method to obtain a notch in the ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter is presented. UWB bandpass filter is designed using ground plane aperture technique. To reject the undesired wireless local area network (WLAN) signals, a complementary single split ring resonator (CSSRR) is placed under the coupled lines of the bandpass filter. The CSSRR has flat insertion loss and goo...
