OBJECTIVE: Many patients with fibromyalgia benefit from complementary and alternative therapies (CAM) in addition totraditional therapy. Health literacy (HL) refers to the ability seek, understand apply health information. The aim of thisstudy is investigate relationship between CAM use HL female fibromyalgia.MATERIALS AND METHODS: An open-ended questionnaire, which also evaluates preferences, was applied 160 patientswith FMS, their data were evaluated a cross-sectional analytical design. Visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain, fibromyalgiaimpact questionnaire (FIQ) Questionnaire (HLS-EU-Q47) applied. divided into two groups (usingCAM (Group 1); not using 2)).RESULTS: According results score 30.94 ± 8.40 (problematic-limited level). There nosignificant difference terms demographic, clinical parameters, sub-indices (p> 0.05). Theresults evaluations made according most commonly used methods showed that there no betweenthose who relevant method those do not, general subscale scores. mostpreferred prayer (37.9%), wet cupping (21.8%), herbal therapy (16.30%), dry (12.9%) thermal bath(11.40%), respectively.CONCLUSION: our study common among women spiritual methodsare leading methods. In addition, disease severity levels similar users non-users.
