Competition Universalism: Its Historical Origins and Timely Alternatives

This paper discusses the actual relevance and historical origins or ‘competition universalism’. In economics, competition is conceptualized as a nearly ubiquitous element of societies, or, at least, used to study wide array social political relations, including between firms for market shares, individuals prestige, countries resources, athletes victory, politicians influence. trend towards universalism’ was facilitated by increasing dominance an economic approach that places less weight on descriptive accuracy consideration so socio-historical specificities, but instead focuses development general tractable mathematical models. Thereby, links universalism developments in epistemological orientation economics. It first explicates genesis universalism, then extent it has reached today, concludes with critical remarks proposition alternative, more particularist competition.
