متن کاملAccelerated discovery of new magnets in the Heusler alloy family
Magnetic materials underpin modern technologies, ranging from data storage to energy conversion to contactless sensing. However, the development of a new high-performance magnet is a long and often unpredictable process, and only about two dozen magnets are featured in mainstream applications. We describe a systematic pathway to the design of novel magnetic materials, which demonstrates a high ...
متن کاملHeusler alloy showing room temperature half - metallicity at the surface
In this article we investigate the surface spin polarization in a 100 nm Co 2 Cr 0.6 Fe 0.4 Al (CCFA) film grown ex situ epitaxially on MgO(100) with a 10 nm Fe buffer layer by means of spin resolved photoemission. We show that a careful in situ preparation of the sample surface leads to values for the room temperature spin polarization up to 45% at the Fermi level. To our knowledge, this is th...

متن کاملGradient moment compensated magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging.
Spectroscopic imaging applications outside of the brain can suffer from artifacts due to inherent long scan times and susceptibility to motion. A fast spectroscopic imaging sequence has been devised with reduced sensitivity to motion. The sequence uses oscillating readout gradients and acquires k-space data in a spiral out-in fashion, which allows fast k-space coverage. We show that a spiral ou...
