Compassionate Care: Reflections of Oncology Nurses

Compassionate care is elemental in maintaining excellence the nursing profession. Yet compassion some nurses can be depleted by repeated exposure to suffering of others and result fatigue (CF) (Gustafsson & Hemberg, 2022). This paper explores why exemplary seem forestall CF. Specifically, we investigate attitudes outstanding oncology strategies they employ sustain compassionate their professional lives. First, searched through research reports from peer-reviewed journals articles grey literature better understand nursing, satisfaction (CS), Then added reflections who maintain challenging working conditions, including during COVID-19 pandemic. The reveals that exceptional empathy due outlook on life, specific use for self-care, unique approaches caring patients families. nurses’ help us coping these how mitigate effects CF an practice. We aim encourage organizational leaders (and nurse educators teach) increase CS, reduce CF, restore enthusiasm practicing nursing.
