Hemşirelik ve hemşirelik bakımı, özen merhamet fikirleri üzerine kurulmuştur. Merhametli bakım, günümüzde hastanelerde bir kalite göstergesi olarak görülmekle birlikte hastaların memnuniyetini arttıran, herhangi maddi gideri olmayan, hastada olumlu yönde pek çok fizyolojik etkileri olan, hastalar yakınlarında yaşam kalitesini hastalarda yara iyileşmesi de dahil olmak üzere birçok hastalığın iyileşmesini hızlandıran bakım modelidir. Bu nedenle profesyonel bakımında merhametli modelleri ışığında planlanmalı, uygulanmalı, eğitiminin önemli parçası olmalıdır. makalede bakımın yeri önemini irdeleyerek hemşirelikte davranışlarını sürecini yönlü tartışmak amaçlanmıştır.
