چکیده
Introduction: Pertrochanteric fractures are devastating injuries that most commonly affect the elderly. There various forms of internal fixation devices used for Trochanteric Fractures; them, device is Dynamic Hip Screw with Side Plate assemblies. In unstable fracture patterns, intramedullary such as PFN appear to have a biomechanical advantage over extramedullary devices. Aim: To compare functional outcome Fixation Nail (TFN-180mm) versus short Proximal Femoral (short 250mm) intertrochanteric fractures. Material and Methods: A prospective study was conducted at Queen’s NRI Hospital, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, on patients femur follow-up recorded in 6 weeks, three months, six months. Observations age, sex, affected side, post-Operative pain using Visual Analogue scale Functional assessed through Harris score complications were recorded. Results & Conclusion: total number 30 cases stable inter trochanteric treated closed/ open reduction TFN 15 each group. Our has female predominance 2:1. The mean age candidates 67.46 years, it 69.66 years average Score group 80.66 79.80. Indicating both same. Short associated more recurring complication anterior thigh pain, which seen predominantly females.

PURPOSE To review outcomes of 100 patients who underwent short proximal femoral nailing for stable and unstable intertrochanteric fractures. METHODS Records of 62 men and 38 women aged 56 to 83 (mean, 67) years who underwent short proximal femoral nailing for stable peritrochanteric A1 (n=36), unstable peritrochanteric A2 (n=40), and unstable intertrochanteric A3 (n=24) fractures were reviewe...

Onset of ankylosing spondylitis in 1953, with marked rigid cervical kyphosis. The vital capacity was only 880 cubic centimetres. The deformity was so severe that atlanto-axial dislocation seemed imminent. Operation was undertaken at C.3-4 level with correction as shown (...
متن کاملProximal femoral nail for treatment of trochanteric femoral fractures.
PURPOSE To report outcomes of 87 consecutive patients treated with a proximal femoral nail (PFN) for trochanteric femoral fractures. METHODS 17 men and 70 women aged 58 to 95 (mean, 85) years with trochanteric femoral fractures underwent PFN fixation using an intramedullary nail, a lag screw, and a hip pin. Fractures were classified according to the AO system; the most common fracture type wa...
متن کاملTreatment of unstable trochanteric fractures. Randomised comparison of the gamma nail and the proximal femoral nail.
The proximal femoral nail (PFN) is a recently introduced intramedullary system, designed to improve treatment of unstable trochanteric fractures of the hip. In a multicentre prospective clinical study, the intra-operative use, complications and outcome of treatment using the PFN (n = 211) were compared with those using the gamma nail (GN) (n = 213). The intra-operative blood loss was lower with...
متن کاملInterTan nail versus Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation-Asia in the treatment of unstable trochanteric fractures.
The goal of this study was to compare the outcomes of unstable trochanteric fractures treated with the InterTan nail (Smith & Nephew, Memphis, Tennessee) and the Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation (PFNA-II) (Synthes, Solothurn, Switzerland). A total of 132 consecutive patients with unstable trochanteric fractures of the femur were enrolled in the study. The only intervention was InterTan nail o...
