چکیده
Abstract:
Background: Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) is the most common reason of maternal death globally. Misoprostol and oxytocin are two first line effective management protocols. But controversies exist in literature. For that matter, this study was conducted.
Objectives: To compare frequency postpartum hemorrhage with per rectal misoprostol relation to intramuscular females undergoing normal vaginal delivery at term.
Methods: This randomized controlled trial conducted Department Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore from 01-01-2019 01-12-2019. Patients were divided randomly into equal halves through lottery method. Group A received group B Oxytocin. Medications administered within one minute clamping cutting cord. During 24 hours, soaked pads evaluated for blood loss total calculated. If loss>500ml, then PPH labeled.
Results: Mean age women Group-B 29.11±6.67 29.23±6.70 years. The mean gestational came as 39.60±1.78 weeks Group-B, it 39.53±1.72. In Group-A 24(15.7%) 59(38.6%) suffered PPH. significantly lower comparison Group-B. Pvalue=0.000.
Conclusion: Results showed use more suitable prevention Post-partum hemorrhages compared term.

BACKGROUND Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is a leading cause of maternal death in sub-Saharan Africa. Although the World Health Organization recommends use of oxytocin for prevention of PPH, misoprostol use is increasingly common owing to advantages in shelf life and potential for sublingual administration. There is a lack of data about the comparative efficacy of oxytocin and sublingual misoprost...
