چکیده

Background: Mandibular angle fractures are treated by many open reduction and fixation techniques. Each technique has several advantages disadvantages. The external oblique ridge via introral approach versus transbuccal intraoral together were compared in this study. Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes of vs an technique. A single miniplate for therapy mandibular fractures.Material Methods: total 180 fracture patients randomly assigned to one two experimental groups randomized control trial. group had 80 patients: B. On first week, month, third all followed up on assess infection malocclusion. Results: With age range 16 60 years, average 160 was 24.79 years (SD 6.855). At end three months, 12 (15%) 7 (8.75%) B infection. last follow-up appointment, 2 (2.5%) 1 (1.25%) both malocclusion (03 months post-op). month after using Chi square test, P-value negligible. Conclusion: present study concluded that combination method (introral with transbuccal) can effectively treat because it allows easier plate adaption placement mid neutral area, which reduces risk malocclusion.

Mandibular angle fractures: two-miniplate fixation and complications.

BACKGROUND Noncompression monocortical miniplate fixation of the mandibular angle is an accepted and reliable method for providing rigid internal fixation. High complication rates have been reported for internal fixation of angle fractures. OBJECTIVE To analyze the outcome and complications in cases in which patients were treated with 2-miniplate fixation at the mandibular angle. DESIGN A r...

A Pitfall in Fixation of Distal Humeral Fractures with Pre-Contoured Locking Compression Plate

Anatomically precontoured locking plates are intended to facilitate the fixation of articular fractures and particularly those associated with osteoporosis. Fractures of the distal humerus are relatively uncommon injuries where operative intervention can be exceptionally challenging. The distal humeral trochlea provides a very narrow anatomical window through which to pass a fixed-angle locking...

Microplate Fixation without Maxillomandibular Fixation in Double Mandibular Fractures

BACKGROUND Maxillomandibular fixation (MMF) is usually used to treat double mandibular fractures. However, advancements in reduction and fixation techniques may allow recovery of the premorbid dental arch and occlusion without the use of MMF. We investigated whether anatomical reduction and microplate fixation without MMF could provide secure immobilization and correct occlusion in double mandi...

External fixation of “intertrochanteric” fractures

In developing countries, due to limited availability of modern anesthesia and overcrowding of the hospitals with patients who need surgery, high-risk patients with "intertrochanteric" fractures remain unsuita ble for open reduction and internal fixation. The aim of this study was to analyze the results of external fixation of "intertrochanteric" fractures in high-risk geriatric patients in a dev...

Comparison of Plate, Nail and External Fixation in the Management of Diaphyseal Fractures of the Humerus

INTRODUCTION Humeral shaft fractures are quite common in orthopedics and represent 1-3% of adult fractures. The surgical treatment is the a better choice in order to obtain a reduction and stable alignment and to prevent the complications. The goal of this study was to compare the three techniques (IMN, LCP and EF) in the treatment of diaphyseal fractures of the humerus in the adult patient. ...
