چکیده
Abstract Background Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) and hemolysis, elevated enzymes low platelets (HELLP) syndrome are two uncommon disorders that mimic each other clinically, but distinct pathophysiologically. This study aimed to compare maternal neonatal outcomes between AFLP HELLP syndrome. Methods retrospective cohort was performed at a tertiary referral center in Taiwan June 2004 April 2020. We used the Swansea Criteria diagnose AFLP, Tennessee Classification System Maternal characteristics, laboratory data, complications, were compared. analyzed categorical variables with Chi-square test or Fisher’s exact continuous Student’s t Mann-Whitney U test. Subsequent logistic regression analyses adjusting by potential confounding factors significant difference analyzed. Results During period, 21 women had 80 There higher rate preeclampsia (95.0 % versus 23.8 %) group compared group. However, more complications including jaundice (85.7 13.8 %), acute kidney injury (61.9 15.0 disseminated intravascular coagulopathy (66.7 8.8 sepsis (47.6 10.0 Nevertheless, rates small for gestational age neonates (57.1 33.3 respiratory distress (39.2 8.3 (34.2 12.5 noted Conclusions is associated multiple organ dysfunction mothers, whereas morbidity.

متن کاملAcute Interstitial Nephritis Proteinuria and Herpes Simplex Virus Hepatitis in Pregnancy Mimic HELLP Syndrome (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver Enzymes, Low Platelets)
Elevated transaminases, hemolysis, and thrombocytopenia in pregnancy are most often caused by a preeclampsia variant-HELLP syndrome (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets). In atypical cases, it is important to consider other causes, such as herpes simplex virus (HSV) hepatitis. Acute interstitial nephritis (AIN)-induced proteinuria can make distinguishing HELLP from its mimics more ...
